Ok, if this is a duplicate msg I apologize - the first time I posted it never showed up (on my local server no less).
I have an ADT Safewatch Pro 3000 panel, which is closely equivalent to an Ademco Vista 20P (essentially the same hardware, but the security nazis at ADT hardcode a few settings). I have the installer code and have been able to access the panel using the keypad. I also just recently obtained a copy of Compass, which should, in theory, be able to connect to that panel via dial-up. I'm currently using my internal 56K modem (it's a Conexant modem), and after monkeying with the strings I can at least establish a carrier, but I just seem to get garbage - it doesn't successfully handshake and allow me to upload or download (nor does it even err out w/ the same msg - it varies).
I am considering purchasing one of the CIA modems, but I'm reluctant to put cash into it if it won't work with the ADT panel (ie - if ADT has some custom firmware that requires their special s
